VERONICA BRETT is a new luxury collection of swimwear fashioned especially for breast cancer survivors and women who have had risk-reducing mastectomies.
Inspired by my amazing sister, a 12-year survivor diagnosed at age 41, and my lovely niece, who at 29 had a risk-reducing bilateral mastectomy, I wanted to give women fashionable, designer level options for life post-surgery, a brand to help them feel confident and sexy all over again.
Sexy, classic and sophisticated, our figure-flattering suits accentuate all of a woman’s beautiful features. Interior pockets conceal a lightweight swim form as well as properly fit a reconstructed breast. The suits have been strategically designed to conceal surgical scars while still giving a semblance of cleavage. Chic and sophisticated, they are meant for lounging at the pool and walks on the beach, not lap swimming or diving.
The brand, which made its debut in Spring 2010, is named VERONICA BRETT, in honor of my aunt, Veronica Brett Kelly, who we lost to breast cancer 35 years ago. She was beautiful, elegant, intelligent, dignified, and an inspiration. I want every woman who wears a product bearing her name to feel the same way, and to truly believe our philosophy that “LIFE NEVER LOOKED SEXIER”.
We wish to thank Stefanie LaRue, self-described ‘cancer warrior’, for being the beautiful face of this, our premier collection, and for fully believing in us and our mission. All photos of Stefanie appear courtesy of Michael Larsen, © Larsen & Talbert.
Julia Ansboro LLC contributes a percentage of annual sales of VERONICA BRETT swimwear to breast cancer research and to organizations that provide support services.
